Meanwhile in the Kitchen: Leftover bread!

Reshma: There's so much leftover bread Farhad!!
Farhad: Wait... Hold my gin and tonic!

Meanwhile in the kitchen!




Farhad whips up a pasta sauce comprising of:
4 tomatoes 
1 onion 
1 whole garlic 
1/3 tsp smoked paprika
a bunch of basil (stalks and leaves)
Blitz it with a hand blender once the sauce is cooked.











He then browns 8-10 pork meatballs in a pan at high heat. Adds it to the pasta sauce to cook through. This will get the meat juices into the sauce as well and pasta sauce into the meatballs. Undoubtedly this is win win situation!




He then looks at the stale bread. That bread is dead, it has no life. So he melts butter in a pan and adds some garlic powder to it. The house is filled with the aromas of garlic and butter. There can't be anything better than this. He then smothers this mix on the stale bread and like a jolt of a defibrillator, the bread magically comes back to life! He is a kitchen god, this Farhad!

With all the components ready, he starts layering the bread and pasta sauce with something even more magical. Farhad sips on his GinTo, while this goes in a fan assisted oven at 180 C covered with foil for 20 mins and then uncovered for 5 more minutes to get a nice crispy crust on top.

The next time you have stale bread lying around, just follow what Farhad did and you'll win it too!
